After front brakes where changed, brake light stays on?

I took my car to Sears and I got front brakes and 1 rotor. After I left my brake light started coming on periodically. I took it back and they said nothing was wrong. Now the light constantly stays on, does anyone know why?|||If you mean your dash light for brakes, then the fluid is probably low. They didn%26#039;t top it off.|||I%26#039;d say take it back. If brakes are working ok and the light is on, I%26#039;d say that there%26#039;s an imbalance between the front and rear. There%26#039;s a distribution block with a sensor in it to measure this.

A good bleeding at all 4 wheels should fix it.|||Why would you take your car to Sears for a brake job? They are owned by K Mart. Go to a real shop.|||Take it back again. Threaten to call someone. Never go back to Sears.

Brake light staying on means there is a problem, if they caused one they need to fix it. If they try to charge you dont let them. If it is a coincidence that it happened when they were working on it, then take it elsewhere for the repair-they should have known something was wrong.

Make them fix it or diagnose it though. It will help your case if something really bad happens (ie. huge repair bill or brakes fail and you hit something). You dont want to be liable for something like that just for chosing a bad shop.|||There are a few reasons the brake light come on, first is when you use the parking brake it comes on, check it to make sure its not on slightly, low fluid level in the master cylinder, a fluid leak in the brake system, a problem in the abs system in some cares will cause the abs light and the brake light to come on, and a short in the brake warning light system (very unlikly but still possible). If they did a proper brake service the shop would have flushed your brake fluid as well. check the fluid level in the master cylinder there should be marks on the side for the maximum level. Add if its low, make sure you use only dot 3 brake fluid, anything else will cause major damage to the brake system resulting in a very big repair bill|||Might have to bleed brakes
