Problem changing tail light bulb on Vauxhall Vectra?

The warning light illuminated on my 03 plate vectra to change the brake light bulb. I bought and changed the bulb. The brake light still does not work and the warning light is still illuminated on the dash. Everything has been put back together properly and the fuses have been checked. Any other ideas what it could be?|||check the wireing plug on the rear of the lamp holder...a bad connection can cause this...|||When you replace the bulb the connections on the bulb holder may have a tiny bit of corrosion / oxidation on the contacts. Scrape this area with a screwdriver and retry.

If still does not work test if a voltage is present across the bulb holder - if not test for a voltage on wires leading into bulb holder etc working backwards until a voltage is found.|||HELLO

EASY CHECK IS TO TRY BULB FROM THE WORKING BRAKE LIGHT IN THE OTHER SIDE, IF LIGHT NOW WORKS YOU WERE SOLD A DUFF BULB.

GO AND BUY A NEW ONE AND REPLACE THE DUFF ONE

WHEN BOTH BULBS ARE GOOD YOU SHOULD LOOSE THE ONE IN THE DASH|||keep the bulb change the car.|||could the new bulb also be faulty ?.
