How do i change a brake light?
No not all bulbs are the same. And is it a tail lamp bulb or third brake light? What kind of car is it? What's the year? If it's older, your probably going to need an 1157. Newer cars use either a 2057 or 3157.

If the owners manual doesn't say which, you will have to access the back of the tail light and remove the worn bulb and see what it is.

Depends on the vehicle. Most you access through the trunk or the hatch. Some you may have to remove the tail light assembly usually held on by nuts located in the trunk.

No all bulbs are not the same you need to get the correct bulb for your vehicle.
No, they are not the same. Can't help you with the change because you did not indicate the vehicle.

A lot of cars use the same ones, but some dont. Just ask the auto parts counter guy to look it up for your model. Usually theres some plastic wing nuts inside of the trunk, behind the brake lights. Once you remove those, the entire housing comes off by gently pulling on it from the outside.

Before you put it all back together, turn your parking lights on and make sure its dim like the others. If that brake light bulb is lit up very brightly and the others are dim looking, then you have it backwards, take the bulb out and turn it 180 degrees and plug it back in.
Hahahaha notice how the other guys were helpful and the mechanic was the rude, unhelpful one!

But yeah, look in the trunk, sometimes under the carpeting for the screws or bolts to remove the taillight assembly, take out the burnt out bulb and use that to match to a new one in the store! Good luck!
yes there are kits that they sell at autozone ect.,

depending on ur car you just have to open ur trunk and find the screws and open it.
