I need help changing the rear left signal bulb and the rear right brake light.?

This is for a 2001 volkswagen beetle
I need help changing the rear left signal bulb and the rear right brake light.?
If you are changing the bulb in the tail lamp, here is step by step instructions. open the trunk and look at the inside trim and on the left hand side is a black round cover take it off and look inside there is star shaped nut inside that you can remove with your hand (do not drop it, there is not any access to reach it) once the nut is off take a butter knife or something to wedge in between the lamp and the rear bumper cover to release the lamp. If you look at where the bumper cover and the fender meet there is a groove there, try to get under the tail lamp there. as far as the brake lamp, same process on right hand side

I don't know if your car works like this, but for most cars that I know, you don't have to take off the red part of the light on the back. You go in through the trunk, possibly pulling off a carpet or plastic cover, then the bulb socket twists off from there. You change the bulb, twist the socket back in, then are done.
