Can you change your own brake light bulb on a SAAB 97x?

Check the owners manual. I have provided a link to one here:

http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/

If you go to page 5-50 (pg 302 of the scan), it will tell you step by step with picture on how to do exactly as you ask. You need a phillips screw driver and it should take you less than 15 minutes to complete. On page 5-51 it will tell you what bulbs you need to replace the lamp.

Good luck - this is exactly how you do it if you don't want to go to this instruction page:

1) Open the liftgate

2) Remove the screws from the tailamp assembly

3) Pull the tailamp assembly away from the vehicle

4) Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly.

5) Pull the old bulb straight out of the bulb socket.

6) Press a new bulb into the bulb socket.

7) Insert the bulb socket into the tailamp assembly and turn it clockwise to secure.

8) Reinstall (push) the tailamp assembly into the vehicle and tighten the two screws.
