My brake lights do not turn on when the brakes are applied.?

2001 Honda Civic EX

I have checked the fuse. I have changed the light bulbs. I have changed the brake light switch. ALL the other lights work (tail light, turn signals, back-up light).

I also recently had my muffler fixed. The bolts near the connection of my muffler with the catalytic convertor was loose. Could the mechanic have punctured some of the wiring here? Is that even possible?

Do the turn signals work? If they do, I would suspect the brake light switch or the turn signal switch. If the cyclops light works and the brake lights don't, the turn signal switch is where I would start. The reason is the brake light signal from the switch goes to the turn signal switch before it goes to the lights

Without seeing the vehicle I could not say, but I doubt the mechanic could have hurt the wiring tightening the cat bolts, the wiring is inside the car.
